I want to learn more about the history of the coast to coast railroad. Not the history of the white men who "built" it, but the people who lived and worked around it. I think I have found the book for exactly that!

I was just getting up to get something from the kitchen, when this phrase somehow fell over me, as it seemed - first as a feeling (the immense happiness), and a second later as words: "In solitude I find immense happiness."
